Buckley, author of Thank You for Smoking, will be reading from his latest satirical novel, They Eat Puppies, Don’t They? (It’s about the U.S. and China – get it?) There will be Q&A to follow, which I’ll moderate. I’d love to see you there!

Mal, Wow. Sorry I missed it, but it’s a long way from Vancouver. I love Buckley’s work (read them all) and I loved this book as well. I proposed it for our men’s beer and book club, and we will be discussing it next thursday.

The event last night was a thrill. Chris Buckley was hilarious almost nonstop, and even I was funny in a couple of places. He comes across as a very caring guy. He endorsed Obama last time, you know? But he wouldn’t say what he’s doing this time.
